Week 4 so far

The work is happening, both ahead of, and a tish behind schedule.  But progress!

We lost the dumpster last week, so yay to parking in one's own driveway!

Drywall mudding took a few days.
First bit of mud...

More mud...
Mud mostly in and texture.

Kind of a before pic, and then...
After.

Cici likes being a project dog.

More mud, this in the baking nook where the window and the pantry used to be.

Master closet, where washer/dryer will go.  All mud and texture done, ready for paint.

Then the fun of sanding...
Yesterday was texture on the walls and ceilings of the kitchen and master closet areas.

Today is PAINT, y'all!  It's a kick to listen to our painter's country tunes.  I'd love to help, but he's the professional, right?  Maybe he'll let me put a roller to the wall.  Only slightly scary bit for the point is the 110% humidity that's happening today, and has been for weeks now.  I hope we don't just all sink into the swamp already.

First strokes of paint on the ceiling!

The other huge thing for me is that the big 'ol plastic curtain is GONE (didja notice?).  Rosie was brave Once and went through the skinny spot that Cici insisted on using as a shortcut to the back door.

Cabinets are ordered, but won't be here for maybe another week yet.  But that's okay, because there was a miscommunication about some of the drywall work that needed to be done, and there's a few spots that need tidying before they can be painted.

We're going to try to install our washer and dryer this weekend, otherwise it'll be early next week.  But I'm getting ahead of myself, the paint isn't on those walls yet, nor is it dry.  Easy there, Tex.

My first day of teaching is today, Wednesday baking lab.  I think I have everything under control for that, all the pieces and parts I'm supposed to have, but surely there will be some mischief that requires me to be flexible...

More posts/pix when I have them... and thanks for reading!
