Hello, again -- heading West!

Hard to believe, and yet not hard to believe at all, that I've not posted here in four years.

It's okay, though. Who blogs?

Well, this girl. About to go on a western odyssey to Idaho and back again, towing a 2017 23' Airstream CB. With a rocket box on the back of the truck, and possibly even a canoe

Trying to meal plan. Find grocery stores. Find cute places to eat and make reservations (Stanley and Steamboat Springs). Plan clothes and bedding and dog food and sleeping bags and tent for folks we'll meet out at Redfish Lake, near Stanley, Idaho. Praying for no major mechanical breakdowns and no dog drama. Currently treating both dogs for a little conjunctivitis; hoping that will be done by the time we hit the road.

God help us, we'll be in Yellowstone at 4th of July. But we will NOT be petting any fuzzy cows.

Stick with us, folks; it's going to be a wild ride. I'll do my best to recount it all here.

And by the way, I found a map of Yellowstone that I bet was the one my parents had with us when I made my first trip to Yellowstone. That time I was sick as a dog from something I ate at a diner in Wyoming. Someone's chicken-cooking skills/thermometer use were not up to par, blergh.

Looking forward to it and slightly dreading it in equal measures. A few days will be long, planning for 6 hours of driving on the first few days getting across this giant country. But then shorter days as we get towards Yellowstone, spending a couple days in various campgrounds before shoving off for different scenery. Then a long slog back after we stay a couple days in Steamboat.

Two and a half weeks is a long time to be away from my home, my bed, simple coffee, my life in general. I'm grateful for the means and the time and the forbearance of my co-workers to be able to enjoy a different perspective through travel. Bring it on.
