November 4th marked a year to the day since we moved in to our new “little” house. A year ago I had no real plan to re-do the kitchen that was here, but here we are, it’s done, and it’s gorgeous. We’ve lived in it for a few weeks now, and we cleaned it way the hell up so we could take some pretty photos for our designer guy.

fun to be able to display Ron Pip-pottery, as well as a couple pieces Jim and I have "thrown" |

BTW, staging your own home is kind of a b*tch without the proper accessories.
And now that the photos are done and John thinks they’re fine, we’ve really started customizing the space. We’d waited to take photos because we were waiting for the new stools to arrive, and here they are. We think they’re spiffy.
Jim put up our knife magnet; I’d forgotten what a sweet blessing one of those things is. At the Home De(s)pot we found the exact hook I’d been looking for — I had two and I wanted three, and had had zero luck looking for that hook online (WTF, HD?). So now I have four...
Jim has installed three of them in our “landing pad” area. Darned screw broke off for one of them, so it had to be mounted a little higher. At least it was the center one. :)
Jim installed cheery lights above the cabinets and in the loft.
And (and also!), because it’s dreary and wet and awful outside (it rained a year ago today too, but not this awful), I’m baking some fresh bread in my sweet little oven. We call her “Lil’ Hottie” in the silly little GE app that dings at us through our phones when the timer’s up or the preheat is done. It’s true -- a fun little feature that I didn't know I'd like or needed.
So what's next for me? Hopefully entertaining a bunch in this lovely new space, and baking more to boot. Requests for baked goods? What should I blog about next?
